Get Back Again!

Hello everybody… How’s life? Still remeber me? Anyone miss me? Heheee. . . 🙂

It’s been a long time sinced the last time i posted something on this blog right? Really sorry for it, cause there are something that made me can’t post an article or something else for this blog. But now after a long waiting finnally i’m here, and i’ll GET BACK to be active in blogging again. 😀

Oh, before i will starting to post on this blog…. I’d like to say HAPPY IDUL FITRI to all moslem all around the world, Minal Aidzin Wal Faidzin. :mrgreen:

Ok, and here i have some picture about “Montel Waterfall” located in Muria Mountain, Kudus, Central Java. You know? I’ve visitted it about 2 months ago ( June 10th, 2013), and yesterday (August 11th, 2013). I’ll post something about it, just wait. 😀

Okey, as my promised before, i tell you the way “How to Install GIMP Layer Effects”.

First i will tell you how to install it on linux :

  1. Download the plugin here.
  2. Extract
  3. For linux user, show the hidden directory at /home/ first. For GNOME users press “Ctrl+H”, and for KDE users press “ALT+.” to show the GIMP directory.
  4. Copy to directory “/home/username/.gimp-2.6/plug-ins/” for linux users (depend on whats version of GIMP you are used, just adjusting for the 2.8 version and the others)
  5. Type sudo chmod +x /home/username/gimp-2.6/plug-ins/ on your terminal.
  6. Restart your GIMP,
  7. and FINISH!

Now,  installing it on GIMP for Windows :

  1. After you have download the plugin, extract it.
  2. Find GIMP and open up it’s files. GIMP’s usually in Program Files.
  3. Copy it on Contents > Resources > lib > gimp > 2.0 > plug-ins.
  4. Restart GIMP, the layer effects plugin now installed on your GIMP.

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is an image retouching and is released under the GPLv3 license as free and opensource software. There are versions of GIMP tailored for most operating systems including MS Windows, Mac, and Linux. This software can be alternative from the others software picture editing like Adobe Photoshop. It  is first released on 1995, and the last stable version is GIMP 2.8.

GIMP has tools used for image retouching and editing, free-form drawing, resizing, cropping, photo-montages, converting between different image formats, and more specialised tasks. Animated images such as GIF and MPEG files can be created using an animation plugin.

The developers and maintainers of GIMP have a product vision for GIMP to strive to be a high end free software graphics application for the editing and creation of original images, photos, icons, graphical elements of web pages and art for user interface elements.

Graphs produced by GIMP XCF format stored and can be exported to various image formats such as bmp, jpg, gif, pdf, png, svg, tiff, and many more. In GIMP you can also open your Adobe Photoshop file project (*.psd) and edit it on GIMP.

There are so many features in GIMP as mentioned above. You can also adding some plugins to GIMP for more features.

Ok, this is the way how to install GIMP for some Operating Sistem, before installing it please make sure that your repositories are updated :

  • Ubuntu, Debian, Mint :simply run  on your terminal  sudo apt-get install gimp
  • OpenSuse : Simply run yast -i gimp or zypper in gimp
  • Fedora : simply run yum install gimp
  • Mandriva : Simply run urpmi gimp

  • For windows user, you can download the installer here.
